Romain Cavelier (Le Mal Nécessaire, Le C, formerly Henri Saint-Henri) won the national finals of the Made With Love competition in Toronto yesterday. The bartender's triumphant tipple was a cocktail made with bourbon, beet syrup, Montreal steak spice infused apple juice, lemon juice, egg white, and walnut oil.
Quebec bartenders were well-represented at the event, seizing four of the top six spots. Quebec City mixologists Rémi Bernard and Patrice Plante came in second and third, respectively, while 132 Bar Vintage's Jonathan Elbaz finished sixth. Congratulations to all the winners and participants.
