The terrasse can stay. The Gazette reports today that Chez Alexandre owner Alain Creton and the borough of Ville-Marie have found a way for the restaurant's patio to remain and conform to a new municipal regulation at the same time. Creton was ordered to dismantle his historic Peel street patio last week because it did not adequately accommodate people in wheelchairs. The restaurant's terrasse has been re-arranged to create a passageway to ease accessibility for all. Mayor Denis Coderre himself announced today that the dispute had been resolved.
