Montreal police have made an arrest in connection with a spectacular heist at a shop that sells upmarket Japanese knives to a number of chefs in the city. Some 200 knives were stolen in a matter of minutes from L'Émouleur this past April. Owner Guillaume De L'Isle estimated the loss at $200,000. Now, thanks to the work of law enforcement investigators, two-thirds of the stolen merchandise has been recovered. The recuperated knives were in shoddy condition but De L'Isle reports that they have since been restored and that his shop is back in business.
