Cacao 70, the chocolate bar and restaurant concept that operates downtown, in the Village, Milton Park, Sherbrooke, and Ottawa, has another franchise as of this week. A new Plateau Cacao 70 is located at 929 Mont-Royal Est, between Saint-André and Mentana. This, of course, is the former Misto, a restaurant that closed somewhat unceremoniously last January after two decades in the Plateau.

Misto partners Luc Laroche and Paul Soucie, who now run Le Richmond and Le Richmond Marché Italien in Griffintown, told Eater at the time that after "10, 20 years you reach a plateau with sales. It just makes sense to move on. There has been a 30% drop in outside commerce in the Plateau. The Plateau is not what it used to be." Time for a new player to test the waters.

Status: Cacao 70, 929 Mont-Royal Est, now open daily. h/t Chowhound.
