What a month for cafés in Saint-Henri. First there was the disclosure from mainstay Café Saint-Henri that it was being priced out of the neighbourhood thanks to a $40,000 rent hike. Now another independent café in the area has announced it is back after a five-month hiatus.
Buck15 closed in February six months after it opened to widespread acclaim close to Atwater Market. "We were forced to close for two weeks due to water pipe damage. Despite the frustration, it gave us time to rethink Buck15. After consideration, we decided to take advantage of this time off by extending it," management divulged at the time. The café is open once more, as of today, with new wall art and an upgraded toast bar that will be unveiled next Wednesday, June 24.
