Montreal Food Weekend: Taste of the Caribbean, Mile-Ex Food Trucks, Ribfest

Food events galore.

Cuisine de Rue

Summer festival season is in full swing in Montreal. Here are three food-centric events to discover this weekend.

Taste of the Caribbean

Three consecutive days of Caribbean food, music, parades, and fashion shows starts today at Isle Bonsecours in the Old Port. Entry is free between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Notable food vendors include Mango Bay, Island Organix Bakery, Les Délices Exotiques, and Le Spot. For $150 you can access a VIP tent with a terrasse, and unlimited food and drink.

Mile-Ex Night Market

The second installment of this neighbourhood block party kicks off Saturday at 2 p.m. at Alexandraplatz Bar and runs until 11 p.m. Look for a fleet of Etsy-like artisans and vendors and a definite food angle: food trucks like Dasfoodtruck, La Sandwicherie Zoe's, L'Assommoir Resto-Bar, Ô soeurs volantes, Phoenix 1, and Queen B will all be on the premises.

Ribfest

The Great Montreal Ribfest features the "finest ribbers from the Southeastern U.S.A." at Quai Jacques Cartier in the Old Port from Saturday, June 27 to Wednesday, July 1 between 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.. Entry is free but prepare to line up to taste what competitive pit masters like Bone Daddy's and Billy Bones have to offer.
