El Patron is not Prince Arthur's new Mexican food boss after all. Three months after the restaurant opened as part of the pedestrian strip's recent revamp, the pusher of queso fundido and sopa de tortilla is done. "It's too bad because it was a dream for us," reported a spokesperson for the restaurant today. "We had to make the choice to stick it out and lose more money or close. We had some bad luck from the start—bad weather, a lack of awareness. We redid the menu recently and it was very tasty, very good, but unfortunately the people did not come." The partners behind El Patron hope to rebound somewhere else in the near future. h/t Chowhound.
