Das Bier, a colossal new German-style beer hall and restaurant is finally open in La Petite-Patrie. Hyped for months, the suds-centric newcomer, ICYMI, is from principals Kaled Chaaban (Mile Public House in Brossard), veteran barman Manny Vides, Jr., and Anthoni Jodoin (Brutus, Nacho Libre). The refurb of the former Boîte à Marius sprawls over 3,500 square feet, and, most notably, sports some 20 beers on tap. Look for German beers and pub grub too―obviously.
Status: Das Bier, 5885 Papineau, (514) 495-2002, now open daily from 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. (kitchen closes at 11:00 p.m.).
