L'Gros Luxe, the aspiring, new wave Montreal comfort food chain, released photos of its latest restaurant today, the fourth in just over a year. L'Gros Luxe Sud-Ouest, in the defunct, very troubled Limon in Little Burgundy, is now open, seven days a week. The space has experienced a total makeover and is no longer an assault on the eyeballs, from the looks of it. Gone are the trace attempts to ape and appropriate Mexican design; neon greens and reds have been replaced by more sombre, muted tones. Chihuahuas in sombreros? Mercifully, gone too, all thanks to owner-designer Alex Bastide. Have a look (all photos by Patricia Brochu).
