Le Gros Jambon Makes Way for L'Orignal Canteen in Old Montreal

Now open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

L'Orignal

The remake of the former Le Gros Jambon in Old Montreal is complete. L'Orignal Canteen, from the same principals, bills itself as a new American restaurant. Travis Champion, also a partner in sister restaurant L'Orignal, spoke about the pivot this past March: "The brunch will stay relatively the same, just more consistent. Lunches and dinners will be more L'Orignal style, with sandwiches, tourtières, shepherd's pies, etc." L'Orignal Canteen is now open for three squares a day. See a sample menu below.

Status: L'Orignal Canteen, 286 Notre-Dame Ouest, (514) 282-3456, now open.
