Nobody loves to open new restaurants in Montreal more than Jorge Da Silva. The businessman behind the MTL Cuisine group will finally add Tapas24 SnackBar to his Old Montreal portfolio this week, a couple months behind schedule. The new restaurant will open with assistance, once more, from Carles Abellan, the Catalan chef who first made an entente with Da Silva to open a Tapas24 in Montreal in 2014. The original Tapas24 is one of many restaurants in Abellan's Barcelona restaurant empire. ICYMI, the Montreal outpost has garnered solid reviews from critics over the last year.
As for Tapas24 SnackBar, the "snackbar espagnol", terrasse and all, will be open for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and will serve ice cream, juices, signature cocktails, and wine. Customers can score a free ice cream cone, in fact, today and Friday, August 13 and 14, at Tapas24 SnackBar, between 11:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. The flavours: margarita (for adults) and crema Catalana. Photos and menu hints below.
Status: Tapas24 SnackBar, 420 Notre-Dame Ouest, (514) 282-1212, opens Thursday, August 13.
