Eater Montreal caught up with Antonin Mousseau-Rivard today to get an update on the chef's new restaurant—one of the city's most anticipated. Le Mousso is almost a go, says Mousseau-Rivard, who ran the kitchen at Le Contemporain in the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal, after significant permit and construction delays. (Toronto restaurateur Jen Agg, whose Agrikol will open soon very close to Le Mousso, is in similar Montreal red tape hell.) The son of singer Michel Rivard and actress Katerine Mousseau (herself a partner in Le Mousso) is keen to get on with it now that he's in the homestretch. Le Mousso will start slowly for the first two or three weekends in September, and then shift away from soft open mode with lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, on a full-time basis. ICYMI, the 30-seater at 1023 Ontario Est, corner Amherst, has a bar permit and will serve "minimalist plates, with ambiance and music." Call 438-384-7410 for reservations.
