Chillax Is Montreal's New Asian Fusion Student Hangout

Mellow Milton Parc vibes.

Chillax, a new restaurant in Montreal's McGill Ghetto, seems deliberately geared to cater to the college set. The du Parc below Milton business sells low-budget and, ostensibly, Asian fusion takes on snacks like popcorn chicken, fried chicken wings, and sweet potato fries. There are also steamed shrimp dumplings, salt and pepper tofu, onion and egg crêpes, and a cheese-stuffed pork chop to consider. As colder weather closes in, Chillax's wonton soups and 'Signature Stews' beckon.

The restaurant, whose other registered business name is Oden Tea House, is not licensed to sell alcohol, but has an extensive beverage menu: milk and bubble teas, fruit slushes, shaved ice drinks, loose leaf teas, and siphon coffees are all on offer (see menus below).

The preliminary buzz on Chillax from Yelp is mixed. Sarah S. loved the restaurant's fried chicken dumplings but wrote in her two-star review that she "didn't get a professional ambience from the place." A five-star review from Arun D. was much more complimentary: "The ambience is great, clean and well decorated which is a step above your typical [sic] asian place. (...) Overall; fantastic food, friendly service, cosy atmosphere and for a really good price. I'll be returning to try a lot more of their menu!"

Status: Chillax, 3460A du Parc, below Milton, (514) 303-8889. No website, Facebook page, or posted hours as of yet.
