Yann Levy, the impresario who gave downtown Montreal a new wave izakaya (Biiru) and taqueria (Escondite), will soon open La Habanera. Look for twists on Cuban classics, Cuban-style sandwiches, a fresh juice bar, and a Mojito bar.
"We'll also do breakfasts after a month or two," Levy revealed today. Despite the location listed here, the true address of the café Cubano remains a mystery. This is the third new restaurant from Levy and company in as many years. Biiru opened at this time in 2014, and Escondite followed suit in 2015. Regardless of the newcomer's undisclosed location, expect La Habanera to be within spitting distance of Biiru and Escondite, and, who knows, maybe famed cigar shop La Casa del Habano too.
