Your First Look at Kampai Garden’s Wild Industrial-Organic Space

From photographer Randall Brodeur.

The massive beer garden project from PJ Goupil and Alexandre Besnard of A5 Hospitality (see also Flyjin and Jatoba), as well as chef Antonio Park, Kampai Garden is finally open at the Faubourg Sainte-Catherine complex downtown.

The space is both whopping and stunning — designer Amlyne Phillips worked a wonder, creating an industrial-plus-organic aesthetic with the 10,000 square foot ground-level space. It’s even bigger once you throw in two terrasses in the warmer months — one of those will be on Sainte-Catherine Street, and the other out the back.

Beyond the brews implied by the whole “beer garden” concept, a solid cocktail menu was put together by the experienced Lawrence Picard, and Park took care of the bar snack options.

Kampai Garden has quietly soft-opened, and courtesy of Eater photographer Randall Brodeur, this is your first look at the many organic fabrics, straight lines and industrial features of the space.

Kampai will be open daily from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. at 1616 Ste-Catherine West (the kitchen closes at 11 p.m.).
