Rejoice: Agrikol is here, and open Thursday to Monday, for now. Jen Agg (of Toronto's The Black Hoof, Cocktail Bar, and Rhum Corner) hinted this week that after months of delays, her Rhum Corner-like project with husband Roland Jean (see the couple below in the new space) and Arcade Fire's Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, was almost a go. The multi-faceted restaurant and cultural space was first announced for Montreal's Village and Centre-Sud area last May.
I had more fun this past weekend then I've maybe EVER HAD, celebrating the end of a long, hard build in Montreal. Just about broke me.

Now DJ Windows 98, aka Butler, has announced via Instagram that Agrikol will host a Kanpe Kanaval satellite party tonight. Founded in 2010, Kanpe is a non-proft committed to the rebuilding of Haiti. Its annual bash goes down at the Société des arts technologiques (SAT) as of 9 p.m. with Arcade Fire, David Byrne, Rainn Wilson, Gardy Fury, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Saul Williams, Vox Sambou, and Fwonte. Agrikol (at 1844 Amherst) is a solid plan B; more than 1,000 people are expected to pack SAT tonight. Come by anytime, added Butler, whose NBA celeb game MVP speech was cut short by ESPN last week.
