Step Inside Gema, the Busy Little Italy Pizzeria From Impasto

In the year and a half since Stefano Faita and Michele Forgione introduced a different kind of pizzeria to Little Italy, across the street from the landmark Napoletana, no less, the neighbourhood — and, indeed, the city — has responded with gusto. Gema, an acronym formed from the names of Faita and Forgione's children, has fast become, like the duo's Impasto, a pillar of Little Italy's dining scene, and one of the toughest reservations in town. Photographer Randall Brodeur recently captured the pizzeria (and frozen custard peddler) on a Saturday night at 6 p.m. Enjoy the photo gallery.
