Dilallo Burger Arson Attack: Montreal Police Release Video

Luckily, nobody was hurt.

The Montreal arson squad wants the public to help identify the person behind a firebomb attack at a Villeray Dilallo franchise. The incident took place at Dilallo Burger Bar, located at 1840 Jean-Talon Est, on December 10, 2015 at approximately 4:15 a.m. Damage was minimal to both Dilallo, and the nearby Café Empire, which was also hit with a Molotov cocktail. A surveillance video of the crime was released on the Montreal police's YouTube channel yesterday.

Three registered companies are listed as Dilallo Burger Bar's shareholders. Principals include Franco Nuccio, Teresa Lucia, Vito Salvaggio, Bettina Rizzuto, alleged Mafia boss Leonardo Rizzuto, and Giovanna Cammalleri. A Montreal restaurateur recently spoke off the record about the arson attempts: "That corner is known to be the meeting place for young Sicilian Mafia. That bar [Café Empire] and the Dilallo across the street. In fact some of my staff were going to eat at Dilallo and I begged them not to hang out in that area."

Releasing videos of firebomb attempts at bars and restaurants is old hat for Montreal's police department. In October of 2014 the arson squad asked the public to help capture the perpetrators of an attack at the now closed Cavalli supper club downtown.
