Gaspé Microbrewery Pit Caribou to Open Montreal Pub This May

Cheers, beer lovers

Pit Caribou

Wonderful news for Plateau-Mont-Royal craft beer fans. Ace Gaspé microbrewery Pit Caribou will take over the former Les Pas Sages bar this May on Rachel and Mentana, close to poutine pusher La Banquise, reports TVA. The l'Anse-à-Beaufils outfit, in the beer business since 2007, distributes to dépanneurs, grocery stores, and bars all over Montreal. A brick-and-mortar brewpub, however, will give Pit Caribou's brand a foothold in a city suddenly rife with craft beer bars. The new pub coincides with a makeover of the microbrewery's waterfront facility close to Percé, at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula, where it also operates a pub (see photos below). Pit Caribou produces a range of beers: a porter, IPA, brown ale, golden ale, amber ale, witbier, and more. Stay tuned for updates on the brewery's new Plateau project.
