Le Petit Trianon, a café that quickly resonated with NDG and Westmount pastry and coffee lovers when it opened last May, will close at the end of the month. Principals Van Hien Dao (late of Tavern on the Square, Café Parvis, and Pikolo) and Gaiia Kim (late of Toqué!), the duo that gave Montreal the crocake, have been enticed to pursue a new project.
"We have been offered to take part in a bigger scale project and unfortunately won't be able to do both. It was a hard decision, but ultimately we feel that the path we have chosen will open up more doors in the future for our business," revealed Dao. "I can't divulge much information about the collaboration, but expect to get BIG news from us shortly. Even Montreal doesn't know what it's waiting for." Consider us intrigued. Stay tuned for developments, obviously. Your last chance to grab a café au lait and pastry at Le Petit Trianon will be on March 27.
