Gazette food critic Lesley Chesterman nestled some bombshell news in her review of new Mile End wine bar M.Mme this week. "Bouillon Bilk owners François Nadon and Mélanie Blanchette will open a wine bar called Cadet a few doors down from their restaurant in late April."
Blanchette confirmed the news today, but is not quite ready to disclose more details. A Facebook page set up for the "little brother" restaurant indicates the address as 1431 Saint-Laurent, which is a block south of Bouillon Bilk, between de Maisonneuve and Sainte-Catherine. Suffice to say that a quality buvette from one of Montreal's best restaurants could well be a boon for downtown Montreal's flourishing Quartier des Spectacles entertainment district. Stay tuned for developments.
