Hallelujah, Olive et Gourmando Is Now Open Seven Days a Week

This is huge news

Olive et Gourmando

Olive et Gourmando, the wildly popular café, coveted for sandwiches and baked goods alike, just made a major announcement on Facebook: "New schedule. Open 7 days a week. Starting Easter weekend!" That sound you hear is all of Old Montreal losing its collective mind.

An ordinary lunch spot expanding its business hours might not be cause for celebration, but this is Olive et Gourmando we're talking about. Ever since Dyan Solomon and Éric Girard opened the daytime restaurant on Saint-Paul and Saint-Pierre over 18 years ago, diehard regulars, and, indeed, tourists and bridge-and-tunnelers, have lamented the fact that Olive was closed Sundays and Mondays. Happily, that's all about to change. And not to be outdone, Solomon and Girard's sister restaurant in Griffintown, Foxy, is now open seven days a week too. O+G 7/7/? Game changer.

Update, March 23: Dyan Solomon explains why it was time to open seven days a week.
