Is Old Montreal About to Get a Portuguese Chicken Restaurant?

— No restaurant group opens, closes, and reopens restaurants quite like Jorge Da Silva's Old Montreal-based MTL Cuisine. In that spirit, it looks as if the group's bygone Italian restaurant Osteria Venti, empty for the past year, is about to get a Portuguese chicken makeover. Da Silva's son, Jorge Da Silva, Jr., hinted as much on social media yesterday. The group's Commerce bar on McGill, the former Bar & Boeuf and Wilson, is poised to reopen after a facelift as well.

— Look out Ripples? Sapa, a new ice cream parlour, will open soon in the Plateau at 4071 Saint-Laurent, between Duluth and Rachel.

— Easter is upon us, and with it, a parade of festive wares from Montreal's chocolate and pastry shops. Check out what the likes of Les Chocolats de Chloé, Patrice Pâtissier, de Froment et de Sève, and Fous Desserts have to offer for the long holiday weekend. La Bête à Pain Griffintown opens Monday, March 28, at 195 Young, between Wellington and Ottawa. ICYMI, here's the scoop on the ambitious project.
