Little Burgundy has a new café on the Joe Beef block of Notre-Dame Ouest between Charlevoix and Vinet. The surf culture homage that is September "was built around the excitement of hurricane season." The café-slash-DIY surfboard workshop from principals Isaac Berman, Ravi Handa, Marie-Elizabeth Lajoie, and Michel Martin held a friends and family launch yesterday and is now open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aidan McMurray, late of Kitsuné and Myriade, helms the shop's coffee program (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia's Anchored Coffee is featured). There are teas and infusions too. On the food front, September sells energy balls, toasts, a breakfast sandwich, salads, tea cakes, and yogurt and granola bowls. All told, a little competition for the likes of Lili & Oli and Buck15 Espresso Bar. Photos of the space below.
Status: September, 2471 Notre-Dame Ouest, (514) 934-5000, open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
