— Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted a glorious Instagram Sunday evening of him dining in Montreal with Top Chef Season 10 winner Kristen Kish, while hometown chef Chuck Hughes is at work in the background. Kish reposted the 'gram with the caption, "I was privileged with the opportunity to sit down and share a meal with the ever so brilliant and wonderful Prime Minister @justinpjtrudeau to chat culture, travel, and food. Stay tuned for our full conversation."

Kish, who co-hosts the Travel Channel's 36 Hours , has spent time in Montreal of late while working on her forthcoming cookbook with Montrealer Meredith Erickson (co-author of Joe Beef and Le Pigeon cookbooks). While in town, Kish has dined at Montreal classics like Nouveau Système, Lester's Deli, Hof Kelsten, Olive et Gourmando, and Le Vin Papillon, capturing it all on her Instagram, of course.

— Buzzy Griffintown market cuisine restaurant Le Fantôme is going full tasting menu. Says co-owner Kabir Kapoor: "After all the customer feedback for the past six months we have noticed that people LOVED the experience of our tasting menu." The restaurant now only offers a six-course tasting menu for $45 or an eight-course tasting menu for $60.

— The first "semaine Québécoise des cafés indépendants" kicks off today. On Saturday, April 23, participating cafés are offering a coffee and milk drink for $2 and a milk-free coffee drink for $1.

Les Enfants Terribles is getting closer to a spring opening for its new restaurant at Au Sommet Place Ville Marie, as the brasserie put out a call for staff. The restaurant will be on the 44th floor of 1 Place Ville Marie, so the views shouldn't be too shabby.

— Chef Jérôme Ferrer is launching his Europea Mobile and Jerry Mobile food trucks this Wednesday, April 20. The first 500 who attend the launch, at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of restaurant Europea, can get a free first taste, reports The Huffington Post. The fancy food truck menu includes lobster truffle cappuccinos, lobster rolls, and gourmet poutines.
