Downtown Montreal diners have a new hybrid restaurant to consider in the vicinity of the Quartier des Spectacles. Le MajesThé, on Président-Kennedy between Bleury and City Councillors, is a new wave bubble tea shop that serves eleven types of cold tea lattes, pretty desserts (see this matcha sponge cake, with raspberry mousse, mango and raspberry purée, and matcha crumble), and a variety of stylish brunch and lunch plates, from eggs Benedict with bacon candy and Chinese sausage bits, to a chic croissanwich. The restaurant offers a tidy, concentrated food menu (items run between $7.99 and &11.99); the tea lineup is the star of the show. Tea drinks run between $3.90 and $4.99. Served in handled Mason jars with jumbo straws, Le MajesThé's beverage game looks like a suitable summer refreshment remedy for Montreal's festival-mad, people-choked quarter. Photos and current menu (subject to change) below.
Status: Le MajesThé, 439 Avenue du Président-Kennedy, (514) 840-5128. Now open Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
