Le Boucan, the Little Burgundy-Griffintown barbecue-and-bourbon restaurant from brothers-in-law Jonathan Nguyen and Derick Francis, will soon open a second outlet on Masson, in the bankrupt M sur Masson. Management recently plastered the windows with photos of sauce-smeared carnivores and the hashtag #BBQFACE. No doubt, then, of what Rosemont diners can anticipate from the new restaurant: groaning platters of ribs, chicken, pulled pork, sandwiches, and assorted sides. "We chose Masson, because it's the opposite of the city compared to Little Burgundy," a spokesperson told RueMasson blog. "There's also a real sense that this is a neighbourhood: down-to-earth, a good mix of families, and young, single people. We like the added bonus of all the shops on the street, and we really look forward to contributing to the community. The ambiance [at Le Boucan] is super friendly. The idea for Masson is to create a typical barbecue atmosphere, where you feel at home, and you leave full, and satisfied." Look for the new Le Boucan to start smokin' by the end of August, and relive Eater Montreal's recent Barbecue Week coverage here.
