Montreal's First Floating Bar Docks On The Canal

Plus Pizzeria No 900's expansion, Arthurs Nosh Bar, and more new restaurants in town

LE SUD-OUEST — A new floating bar called Canal Lounge is open and serving cocktails on the canal next to Atwater Market. The establishment is formed out of renovated boat and has a fairly mod decor. Early reports point to a simple drink menu that is significantly overshadowed by the cool-factor of imbibing in a ship-restaurant. Hours are 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. [Facebook]

VILLE-MARIE — The Pizzeria No 900 franchise at the Marriot Hotel on Peel is open and slinging its Neapolitan pies. New locations at Boisbriand also recently jointed the original on Bernard. And No 900's plans for world domination continue apace. [Facebook]

VILLERAY — Café Perko is also now open between Archicrème ice cream shop and breakfast spot Le Toasteur, at the corner of Villeray and Chateaubriand. Streaming wi-fi, Kittel coffee, "affordable" homemade sandwiches, and pastries are on the menu. [EaterWire]

PLATEAU-MONT-ROYAL — L'Gros Luxe on Saint-André and Roy has completed its transformation into L’Gros Luxe 100% Végé, serving a one hundred percent vegetarian menu, including vegan tacos and poutine. Instagram already loves this place. [EaterWire]
