Forthcoming Birona Hummus Bar put out a call on Facebook, “Calling all hummus-lovers! We're looking for people to help us with our menu. Like our page, fill in the form and you can win a private dining experience to test our menu, before we open! goo.gl/zbbnli.” The upcoming addition to the Mile End neighborhood predicts a September opening and is ready to start focus grouping its menu. On the about page, the restaurant says “Birona Hummus Bar is a Mediterranean-style counter that specializes in different hummus dishes and fresh salads. Inspired by old grandma recipes.”

The new concept comes from La Poutine Week and Le Burger Week co-founders Thierry Rassam and Na'eem Adam and ART : brgr owner Alon Biron.

Adam explains:

About a year ago we went to ART : brgr for burgers and the owner Alon gave us a dish of his hummus to taste, we've been hooked ever since! Thierry and I have a habit of obsessing over food dishes. We started dreaming of a hummus bar concept, and months later, we decided to go for it! We're going to have multiple home-style hummus dishes and fresh salads. Something we believe the Mile End would really appreciate.

Birona sits at 5417 Boul St-Laurent. Look for more details on an opening date and menu as they are made available.
