You want openings? Here are a bunch of recent ones.
VILLAGE — Like a phoenix rising from the noodles, popular cheap-eats Thai spot Cuisine Bangkok is back in business. Bangkok was pushed out of the Faubourg Sainte-Catherine shopping centre downtown along with a few other businesses in late 2016, but has since regrouped and found itself a new location right near Beaudry métro in the Village. It’s somewhat of an upgrade — they now have a storefront and a bigger space than the previous food court counter. But it’s too far for Concordia-adjacent students and workers to grab a quick lunch. Will the well-liked purveyor of curry and Pad Thai be a hit amongst the leather daddies at Aigle Noir next door? That remains to be seen. It’s open 11 a.m. (5 p.m. Sunday) to 10 p.m. daily.
DOWNTOWN — The Concordia district does, however, have one new lunch option in the form of a second location for Little Italy sandwich counter Porchetta. Just like the original version of the Italian street food spot, it comes from the people behind Buonanotte and Fiorellino, but at a far cheaper price given its focus on sandwiches (fried chicken, Italian sausage) and snacky eats like arancini. It’s open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. near Guy and Sherbrooke.

VILLE ST-LAURENT — Upscale burger-and-fries vendor Notre-Boeuf-de-Grâce is on an expansion binge, with a third location popping up just months after the second one arrived downtown. It’s out near the Place Vertu mall in Ville Saint-Laurent, just off the 40 highway. It’s open seven days, including lunches and weekend brunch.
Hellooo Ville Saint-Laurent!!! We're officially open between 11am and 10 pm today!! Come by and get a taste of the city'...

DOWNTOWN — Less willing to branch out into new parts of town is big-name patisserie Maison Christian Faure. The Meilleur Ouvrier de France wielding pastry chef quietly opened a third store in his name downtown, on de Maisonneuve Boulevard. Good news if you’re prone to macaron cravings in the evenings: it’s open quite a bit later than the other locations, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
