Fire Gutted a Côte-des-Neiges Chinese Favourite

Also, a pizzeria was wiped out

A five-alarm fire has left Côte-des-Neiges BYOB Chinese restaurant Aunt Dai is indefinitely closed.

The fire burned through the triplex housing Aunt Dai on the weekend, gutting both Aunt Dai and a neighbouring pizzeria, Pizza Way — CBC reports that it started in garbage bins behind the building. While the broadcaster reported that the apartments above, along with the pizzeria and a fruit store were affected, Aunt Dai, which is housed in the same building as the pizzeria, sustained major damage.

Aunt Dai’s owners wrote that it will be closed indefinitely; the fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage. Pizza Way is also closed, and the owners haven’t given a public indicatino of how they might proceed.

Fortunately, in the event that the three-year-old Aunt Dai doesn’t reopen, it’s not the end for them. The restaurant, known for its extensive mix of Sichuan dishes and North Americanized options and blunt commentary from the owner written alongside the menu, added an Anjou location somewhat recently. That location is at 6381 Roi-Rene.

Unfortunately Cuisine AuntDai at Cote-des-Neiges was burnt down and it will be closed indefinitely. Please support us by coming to our Anjou restaurant at 6183 Roi-Rene, Anjou, H1K3G4 5149036222.
