The group behind downtown staple Dominion Square Tavern is making its first expansion in nearly four years, with a new bar on Parc Avenue north of Beaubien
Taverne Atlantic is the name, and Dominion Square owners Alexandre Wolosianski and Alexandre Baldwin are joined by Simon Cantin of nearby gastronomic spot Manitoba as a third owner.
Per La Presse, Atlantic — named for nearby Atlantic Avenue — will be quite the all-rounder bar, with a wide range of beers and cocktails, and a carefully-selected wine list (Eater has reached out for precise details). That’s little surprise — Wolosianski and Baldwin have made their names off high-quality bar service at Dominion Square Tavern and their Mile End bar, Henrietta (not to mention its predecessor, Baldwin Barmacie).
Atlantic will also dip into some casse-croûte style eating options — the food arm of the business is dubbed Chez Eddy, and is serving fries and poutine, and a range of pizzas from a classic pepperoni to a potato option (complete with cheese curds on top) and the meaty, cheesy “cheese boogie”.
STATUS — Taverne Atlantic is open at 6512 Parc Avenue — hours TBA.
