Good beer isn’t hard to find in Montreal. Since Le Cheval Blanc first broke the seal back some 30-odd years ago, the scene has become dizzyingly crowded, with brewers elbowing each other out for the best juicy NEIPA, thirst-quenching lager, or brow-scrunching sour. Now that coronavirus restrictions have been eased for bars, customers will be the ones doing the elbowing in order to score a seat.
Many on this map operate their own brewing operations, on site or elsewhere, and some source a whole range of excellent microbrews. Selling good craft beer is the key criteria for the bars included here — this isn't a dining map, so while many of these bars have kitchens, the quality of their food may vary.
