Where to Order Pizza During Montreal’s 28-Day Restaurant Shutdown

From a greasy all-dressed pie to fancier Neapolitan options, there’s still a decent selection of pizza available right now

While plenty of Montreal restaurants are once again having to rejig their operations, there is one slice of the sector adjusting rapidly: pizzerias. Not every pizza purveyor in town will remain open during this second wave of restaurant closures, but here are 20 great bets for ordering pizza right now.

Take note that some of the pizzerias listed here are shuffling their schedules and offerings. We’ve tried to include these details where possible, but be aware that the information below may be subject to change. And, a couple of restaurants below only offer pick-up options, not delivery — this is noted where possible, too.

Lastly, where possible, it’s best to place orders directly with the pizza places, rather than through apps like Uber Eats, so more money goes into the hands of small business owners. In many cases, you can still have your pie delivered, as a solid number of pizzerias employ their own drivers.

While available on UberEats, SkipTheDishes, and DoorDash, Heirloom has reminded customers that if they live within a 4 km radius, its in-house delivery system can do the job.

It’s just over one year since Antonietta opened its doors at the location that formerly belonged to Pizza Villa on Papineau, but the restaurant’s young and scrappy team, has quickly answered calls to readjust in light of the pandemic. This time, they promise takeout, but say they are still working out the logistics. If how they handled the shutdown from a few months back is any indication, you can expect favourites like its cacio pepe and diavola pizzas will stay on the menu.

Unlike the Neapolitan style adopted by sister pizzeria Gema, restaurant Vesta does a thicker North American dough, that falls somewhere between Montreal and New York-style pizza. Its 12- and 16-inch pies are cooked on wire mesh instead of straight on the stone, making for a crispier crust perfect for withstanding the transportation time. And as of right now, every pizza sold will yield $3 for the Montreal Restaurant Workers Relief Fund.

Pizza Toni’s menu is simple: New York-style pizza in five classic flavors including pepperoni, margherita and marinara, with prices running from $22 to $28 for a whole pie. Pizzéria No 900 (multiple locations)

In a few short years, Pizzeria No 900 has evolved from one Outremont restaurant into a chain with locations across Quebec. And for good reason — the Neapolitan style pies with perfectly blistered crusts are top-notch (courtesy of house pizzaiolo Mirko d’Agata), and the expansions generally haven’t impacted the quality.
