Where to do Dollar Oysters in Montreal

Buck-a-shuck options for the budget-conscious, every night of the week.

View as Map

In 2019, anything you can buy for only a dollar, food or otherwise, is a steal. Given that oysters are usually not the most budget-friendly food in the world (and for good reason – it’s better to pay a premium to ensure their quality and freshness, rather than getting ill), finding them for only $1 is a bargain. Some might call it a risk, but it’s one that plenty are willing to take.

While those “buck-a shuck” specials used to be a dime a dozen, they are getting harder and harder to come by. Yet, there are still a handful of Montreal restaurants and bars still serve them. Some keep it to one night a week, while others feature them as a regular 5 à 7 special — either way, there are multiple buck-a-shuck options available for whenever an oyster craving hits.
