A lot about this year’s holiday celebrations will be strikingly different from the ones that came before it, but telling others how much you care is especially important this time around. That includes the city’s restaurants, who’ve continued to feed Montrealers throughout this crazy time. Whether you’re celebrating the beginning of 2021, or the end of 2020, alone or in your home bubble, here are our takeout selections for your revelling pleasure. Most of these spots have extensive wine lists, so don’t forget that bottle of bulles.

Le Flamant / La Maison Des Pâtes Maison

Hochelaga resto Le Flamant has renamed itself La Maison des Pâtes Maison, and that’s (mostly) what it’s about for New Year’s. There’s pasta of every shape and size, from tagliatelle to triangoli, with some gnudi in between. A bevy of sauces are available, too, including a rapini and almond pesto which we hope stays on the menu. Add an in-house clamato with whelks and you’re all set. Takeout only.

Spanish specialties, including pan con tomate, jamon serrano, and a deluxe seafood paella are part of Meson’s generous New Year’s Eve offering for two. And there’s more: Basque chocolate cake to finish the year off right, with a big choice of Spanish wines, Xeres, and bubblies to wash it all down.

Just in time for the holidays, Mon Lapin 2.0 has a new space and an à la carte festive menu on offer.
